Magician Joel Ward has been called “Savanna’s Favorite Magician” by former patrons of Music and Magic in Savanna shows. He thinks highly of Savanna and was willing to arrange his schedule so he can perform May 1, 2, and 3rd at the Alan and Adrianne St. George Center for the Arts at 800 Chicago Avenue. His tasteful, fun-filled, high energy show has always delighted audiences. Alan St. George, who is hosting the event, has asked Joel to perform his famous live doves act as part of his presentation. With his gregarious personality, Joel is sure to once again please audiences.
Joel’s original magic has astonished people throughout the world. As he makes things appear and disappear, he presents award-winning magic by combining classical magic with a contemporary touch. Joel’s mind-boggling magical talent ranges from comical audience participation, to interactive close-up magic and flashy Las Vegas styled illusions. As a magician, comedian, actor and TV personality, he has toured extensively in the USA, Canada, Central and South America, Europe and Asia.
Joel became interested in magic when he was 6 years old. A magician at a school assembly had chosen Joel from the audience to assist on stage. Since then, Joel has taken his magic very seriously. A California native and raised in Cardiff by the Sea, California, Joel started his own business at age 10 and started to perform at children’s birthday parties. By age 15, Joel became a World Champion Teen Magician after placing 1st at the International Brotherhood of Magicians annual competition, the World’s Largest Magic Organization. That same year Joel was picked out of hundreds of magicians to appear on television with Master Magician, Lance Burton. The show, “Lance Burton-Young Magicians Showcase,” was filmed at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino.
Also joining the cast of Music and Magic in Savanna, will be ‘mind reader’ Mark Toland from Chicago, Illinois. How can he know what you are thinking!!!! Favorites Michael S. Dunavant and Talia Aull, who also have their own followings, will again grace the stage as they showcase their amazing vocal talents. Perhaps “The Magic Tsar” will travel from the ‘hinterlands’ to reprise his famous sword illusion for the audiences.
Proceeds from the charitable event will go to The Savanna Historical Society for the Savanna Museum and Cultural Center.
